Performance & Technology
Speed benchmarks, Core Web Vitals, and technology assessment for Pankajakasthuri
Mobile PageSpeed Score
A mobile lab score of 66 - the best of six Ayurveda stores tested - and the only one whose taps respond within Google's bar for real shoppers.
Competitive Comparison
Benchmarked against 3 leading Health & Wellness (Ayurveda) stores in your market
| Store | Mobile Score | Desktop Score | Mobile LCP | Mobile CLS | Mobile TBT |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pankajakasthuri (Client) | 66 | 86 | 12.7s | 0.000 | 0ms |
| Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala | 58 | 81 | 8.9s | 0.042 | 333ms |
| Dhathri | 53 | 80 | 7.3s | 0.044 | 650ms |
| Kerala Ayurveda | 42 | 65 | 5.7s | 0.032 | 1421ms |

| Dr. Vaidya's | 5 | 56 | 28.8s | 0.818 | 7439ms |
⚠ Note: Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, Dhathri, Kerala Ayurveda, Kama Ayurveda, Dr. Vaidya's score lower than Pankajakasthuri on mobile PageSpeed. This reflects the Health & Wellness (Ayurveda) category average — even established brands in this space struggle with mobile performance. The opportunity is to leapfrog the category, not just match it.
Core Web Vitals — Google's UX Quality Signals

What This Means for Revenue
Pankajakasthuri scores 66 on mobile in Google's lab test, ahead of every Ayurveda store we could test: Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala 58, Dhathri 53, Kerala Ayurveda 42, Kama Ayurveda 42 and Dr. Vaidya's 5 (Kapiva blocks Google's test tool, so it is left out). It is also the only store in the group whose real shoppers get a tap response inside Google's 200ms bar (171ms); the others range from 205ms to 425ms. The gap is the first screen. Chrome field data shows real visitors wait about 3.7s for Pankajakasthuri's hero image on mobile, while Dhathri (2.1s), Kottakkal (2.6s) and Kerala Ayurveda (2.7s) fill their first screen faster. The hero slideshow image is the largest thing on the page and is not prioritised; giving the first slide priority loading, serving it at phone size and removing the render-blocking slider stylesheet would close that gap - and turn speed into a clear lead rather than a split result.
Technology Stack
Platform
Shopify
Shopify storefront served through Cloudflare; the 94-product catalogue and an open app ecosystem give plenty of room for CRO apps.
Theme
Herbyo (custom, Engo-based)
- Type: Custom theme with legacy jQuery/Bootstrap assets
- Theme schema Herbyo 1.0.0, jQuery 3.5 era scripts
- Related Products block is built but hidden by CSS; Dresses/Swimwear/Shoes size-chart template code left in the page
Checkout & Payments
Native Shopify Checkout via Cashfree and Razorpay (via Shopify checkout)
- Guest checkout: Enabled (email or phone, no account needed)
- Express checkout: Not offered in cart or drawer (no Shop Pay, GPay or UPI quick-pay button)
- UPI, Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, wallets, Apple Pay via gateways
Technology Assessment
Pankajakasthuri runs on Shopify with a custom Herbyo theme, native Shopify checkout with Cashfree and Razorpay, and a heavy stack of third-party apps. Checkout is solid; the theme carries leftovers (hidden related products, template size-chart code) and script weight that merit cleanup.
UX & Conversion Findings
Page-by-page analysis with visual comparisons against top Health & Wellness (Ayurveda) stores
- The only social proof is a slider of Facebook comment screenshots, and all of it is about a single product.
- Screenshots have no star rating, no product link and no verified-buyer cue, so they read as less credible than store reviews.
- A tall empty gap inside the slider pushes the next section away and weakens the proof block.
- Replace screenshots with a reviews strip pulling live star ratings and short quotes across the best-selling products.
- Link each review to its product so trust turns into a visit to the product page.
- Kapiva shows rated, named customer reviews on its homepage.
- Each concern tile fills an entire phone screen, so shoppers scroll through every tile before the first product.
- Bestsellers sit far down the page, so many shoppers never reach products they could buy.
- Show the concern tiles as a compact two-column grid or a swipeable row so all concerns are visible at once.
- Move the featured products higher so shoppers can add to cart sooner.
- Dr. Vaidya's shows its health concerns as a compact swipeable row of round icons right under the header.
- Cards show only name, price, stock label, size and add to cart, with no rating or review count.
- The product page does carry a rating, so social proof exists but stays hidden until shoppers open each product.
- Without ratings shoppers cannot tell strong sellers apart, which slows choosing.
- Surface the existing star rating and review count under the product name on every card.
- Hide the rating line for products with no reviews yet rather than showing zero.
- Kapiva lists ratings on its collection cards.
- No pincode field or delivery date is shown near the price or buy buttons.
- Delivery and return details exist only as policy pages in the footer, far from the buy decision.
- Shoppers outside metro cities cannot confirm serviceability, a common reason to abandon.
- Add a pincode box under the buy buttons that returns serviceability, estimated delivery date and COD availability.
- Remember the pincode for later visits.
- Kapiva lets shoppers check the delivery date by pincode on its product page.
- After the tabs and share icons the page ends straight into the footer.
- A Related Products block is built into the theme but is switched off, so shoppers never see it.
- Shoppers unsure about this product have no next product to explore, which loses add-to-cart chances.
- Switch the existing related-products block on and show it below the tabs as a swipeable row.
- Prefer same-concern products, for example tablet and syrup forms of the same remedy.
- Dr. Vaidya's shows related and frequently bought products on its product pages.
- The sticky bar stacks product name, price and two full-width buttons, covering a large part of the screen.
- It appears even while the main buy buttons are still in view, squeezing the content shoppers want to read.
- With the bottom nav bar below it, little space is left for the description.
- Reduce the bar to one compact row: price plus a single add-to-cart button.
- Show it only after the main buy buttons scroll out of view.
- Kama Ayurveda keeps a slim single-row sticky Add to Bag bar (about 73px, one full-width button) on mobile product pages.
- Dosage guidance is inconsistent: some products (Ashwagandha Tablets, Anticid Pudina) mention it inside the description, while bestsellers like Breathe Eazy Granules and Kumkumadi Thailam give no directions at all.
- There is no How to Use tab beside Description, Ingredients, Review and FAQ, so even where directions exist shoppers must read the whole description to find them.
- Shoppers buying an ingestible remedy want usage clarity before paying; missing or buried directions raise doubt and support queries.
- Add a How to Use tab on every product page with dose, frequency, duration and when to take it (before or after food).
- Include a short note on who should avoid it or consult an Ayurvedic doctor.
- Dr. Vaidya's gives every product page a dedicated How To Use tab.
- The FAQ tab opens to a blank panel, so shoppers who tap it find nothing.
- An empty tab looks unfinished and undermines trust at the moment doubts need answering.
- Add short answers on dosage, results timeline, safety and delivery, or hide the tab until content is ready.
- Reuse real questions from the Ask a Question form.
- Kapiva uses an FAQ accordion on product pages.
- Neither the cart drawer nor the cart page offers any recommendations; the drawer even shows a large blank area.
- The store's cart app (UpCart) already includes upsell and recommendation modules, but both are switched off.
- Products are low priced, so a small add-on is the easiest way to raise order value.
- Switch on UpCart's upsell module and show two or three complementary remedies under the cart items with quick add.
- Pick items that complete the same concern, such as a syrup with a tablet.
- Kama Ayurveda shows a Recommendations carousel with quick Add to Bag buttons on its cart page.
- The checkout button has no payment icons, secure checkout note or return reassurance near it, in the drawer or on the cart page.
- Payment logos appear only in the page footer, far from the decision point.
- Add UPI, card and COD icons plus a secure checkout line directly under the checkout button.
- Mention easy returns in one short line.
- Kama Ayurveda shows a 100% Safe & Secure Payment badge and UPI/EMI logos just above its Checkout button in the cart.
- The cart drawer tracks only discount tiers; free shipping is mentioned only in the rotating announcement bar.
- The cart page has no progress or threshold message at all.
- A shopper just under the free-shipping level gets no nudge to add a small item.
- Show a live message such as add Rs.X more for free shipping with a progress bar in the drawer and the cart page.
- Combine it with the discount tiers in one clear bar.
- None of the three approved competitors shows a live free-shipping progress message in the cart yet, so this is a mockup of what it could look like.
- Only the standard checkout button is offered; there is no wallet or UPI quick-pay option in the drawer or cart page.
- Mobile shoppers must fill a full address form before reaching payment.
- Add a Google Pay or UPI quick-pay button above the standard checkout button.
- Prefill the address from the wallet to cut form effort.
- None of the three approved competitors offers a UPI quick-pay button in the cart yet, so this is a first-mover opportunity.

App Stack Assessment
Pankajakasthuri has 18 apps and scripts covering menu, cart drawer, reviews, loyalty, email and push. Three email platforms overlap, and the cart drawer lacks cross-sell and free-shipping messaging that the stack could support.
